Adult, Three Teens Charged Auto Theft, Conspiracy

Patrol Officers with the New Castle County Division of Police have arrested four individuals following an investigation into a stolen motor vehicle.

Officials said on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 08:05 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of South Place in New Castle in reference to a vehicle being stolen. A surveillance camera captured the incident which showed 6 suspects stealing a white Kia Soul police said.

While officers were handling the initial report, additional officers began checking the immediate area. Officers located the victim’s property which had been thrown from the vehicle near the area of Rogers Manor Park. Officers then located the stolen vehicle near the intersection of New Castle Avenue and Cherry Lane. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle at which time four suspects exited the vehicle and began running. The vehicle then fled towards 295 with the remaining suspects. After an extensive search and with the assistance of K9 Guci and K9 Nova, officers were able to locate all four suspects that fled from the vehicle.

The four suspects were identified as 18-year-old Larell Bracy-Chavis of New Castle, a 14-year-old male from New Castle, a 15-year-old male from New Castle, and a 16-year-old male from New Castle. The suspects were charged with theft of a motor vehicle, conspiracy in the second degree, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest.
