The Elsmere Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in a homicide investigation following the death of Marcos Plasencia, a 31-year-old resident of Wilmington. The incident occurred on the night of December 31, 2023.
At approximately 10:57 Sunday evening, Elsmere Police officers were dispatched to the 400 block of New Road, responding to reports of a single-vehicle accident. However, upon arrival, they discovered Plasencia deceased in his vehicle. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds police said.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the shooting occurred within the vicinity where Plasencia’s vehicle was found. The exact location and circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation.
