Five Injured In Newark-Area Crash Sunday, Three Children

Delaware State Police are currently investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred this morning at the intersection of Reybold Road and Salem Church Road.

The incident, which involved an overturned vehicle, resulted in multiple injuries

According to Assistant Public Information Officer Jamielee Majewski, New Castle County Paramedics and the Christiana Fire Company were dispatched to the scene at approximately 9:42 Sunday morning. Upon their arrival, responders found the overturned vehicle with five individuals requiring medical attention.

Majewski said that among the injured was a 25-year-old female who suffered a possible head injury. She was treated by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to Christiana Hospital in serious condition by a Christiana Fire Company ambulance. An 18-month-old female was treated for possible internal injuries and also transported to the hospital in critical condition. The paramedics also attended to a 6-year-old female and a 5-year-old male, who both sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported in stable condition. Lastly, a 27-year-old male was treated for possible internal injuries and is in serious condition.

The road was closed while the accident and investigation were cleared.
