Middle School Edibles Rumors Cleared Up

The principal of Everett Meredith Middle School addressed a situation that arose at the school earlier this week.

In a letter to parents, Principal Beth Everett responded to rumors that have been making their way around social media this week. Everett told parents that the incident involved a small number of students who were exchanging edible THC gummies. Everett went on to say that the school took immediate action in accordance with their Student Code of Conduct and confiscated the items.

She also told parents that the confiscated items did not contain fentanyl, a potent synthetic opioid, which had been rumored on social media for several days. Everett also clarified that no students required medical attention in relation to the confiscated items.

“We would have communicated immediately with our families.”In the event that something confiscated at school was laced with fentanyl or we had a student that needed medical care as a result – we would have communicated immediately with our families.” said Everett.
