Officials Release Five Patients’Conditions In Saturday Morning Fiery Crash

Delaware State Police are investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of Bear Christiana Road and Rivers End Drive. This incident, reported around 3:20 Saturday morning involved a vehicle entrapment and a subsequent fire.

Emergency units from New Castle County Paramedics, Christiana Fire Company, Wilmington Manor Fire Company, Minquas Fire Company of Newport, and Delaware State Police were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the responding teams confirmed the initial reports and identified five individuals requiring immediate medical attention.

The first patient, a 30-year-old female, received on-scene treatment by New Castle County Paramedics and was transported in critical condition to Christiana Hospital by an ambulance from the Christiana Fire Company, with New Castle County Paramedics accompanying.

A 26-year-old male, who was trapped in his vehicle for about 25 minutes, sustained minor injuries. Rescue personnel successfully extricated him, and he was treated on the scene by New Castle County Paramedics. He was then transported in stable condition to Christiana Hospital in an ambulance from the Minquas Fire Company, again accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics.

Another patient, a 42-year-old male with suspected internal abdominal injuries, was treated on-site by New Castle County Paramedics and transported in critical condition to Christiana Hospital by a Christiana Fire Company ambulance.

The fourth patient, a 42-year-old male with injuries to his extremities, was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics. He was then transported to Christiana Hospital in serious condition, accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics in a Christiana Fire Company ambulance.

A 2-year-old female with facial injuries was treated on the scene and transported in serious condition to Christiana Hospital by a Christiana Fire Company ambulance, accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics.
