Just In: Five Seriously Injured in Fiery Crash In Bear, Route 7 Closed

Officials are currently on scene investigating a serious motor vehicle accident that occurred this morning in Bear.

Just before 3:20 crews were dispatched to Bear Christiana Road (Route 7) at Rivers End Drive in Bear.

The Christiana Fire Company, assisted by EMTs from the Minquas Fire Company, New Castle County Paramedics, and Delaware State Police, responded to the scene following reports of a vehicle on fire with a child trapped inside.

Upon arrival, emergency crews found the vehicle on fire and confirmed that the child was trapped. Command requested four ambulances due to multiple patients suffering serious injuries. The trapped child was extricated from the vehicle a few minutes after the rescue team’s arrival.

A total of five individuals were transported to a trauma center, with several, if not all, in critical condition. The incident has closed Route 7 and is expected to remain closed for several hours.
