One Shot Near School Tuesday, Principal’s Window Struck

Rescue crews, along with Wilmington Police, were dispatched to the area of East 22nd Street and North Church Street following reports of a shooting incident.

Upon arrival, officers found a 17-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim has been transported to a trauma center by ambulance.

Officers checked the nearby Thomas Edison Charter School and reportedly discovered that a stray bullet had gone through the window of a principal’s office. The school is approximately a block away from the scene. There were no injuries reported at the school.

Crime scene techs and Detectives have responded to both locations and are currently investigating the incident.
