Just before 7:45 Thursday evening rescue crews responded to Newcastle Avenue at West Avenue in Newcastle call reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
Upon arrival command ordered Newcastle Avenue closed and reported that the patient was in very serious condition.
The female patient was transported by ambulance with New Castle County, paramedics on board in critical condition at the time of transport.
