Drug Investigation Leads To Raid At Student Housing In Newark

Michael Glass, a 20-year-old resident of Haworth, New Jersey, has been charged with multiple drug-related offenses following an investigation by the Newark Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit.

Officials said the investigation, which targeted drug sales in Newark, led to the execution of a search warrant at Glass’s apartment on Scholar Drive earlier this month. University Courtyards Apartment are student housing for the University of Delaware.

During the search, authorities discovered nearly one pound of marijuana, over 250 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, and multiple doses of LSD according to Lt. Andrew Rubin. Following the discovery, Glass was arrested at his residence.

He was subsequently transported to Newark Police headquarters, where he was formally charged with three counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 3 quantity, possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 1 quantity, simple possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Glass was arraigned via video at Justice of the Peace Court #2, where he was released on a $52,400 unsecured bail.
