Police: Bank Employee Accused Of Stealing Money Of Victim Killed In Accident

The New Castle County Division of Police has arrested 25-year-old Latia Wynn, also known as Itiyya Wynn of Wilmington regarding multiple theft-related charges.

In February 2024, Officers were dispatched to a residence on Constitution Boulevard and met with the family of a victim who had passed away from a motor vehicle accident.

The family was in the process of closing all the deceased victim’s accounts when they noticed a significant amount of money missing from a WSFS bank account.

Through investigative measures, officers identified the suspect as then-WSFS employee Latia Wynn police said Thursday.  Officials said during the investigation, it was established that Latia Wynn acquired the deceased victim’s information as the family was in the process of closing the accounts. Police alledge that Wynn began withdrawing money while she was an employee of WSFS Bank. After reviewing all the bank transactions, police say Wynn withdrew over $44,000.00 belonging to the deceased Victim.

On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, Latia Wynn was taken into custody and transported to New Castle County Police headquarters, where she was charged with one felony count of identity theft, one felony count of wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, and one felony count of theft $1500 or greater.

Latia Wynn was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $18,000.00 unsecured bail.
