On Tuesday evening, April 2, 2024, around 8:30 PM, Cecil County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Nazarene Camp Road in North East, Maryland, following a 911 emergency call reporting a shooting incident.
Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers encountered a 17-year-old individual who had sustained a gunshot wound to the thigh. The injured party was transported by ground ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Delaware, where they received treatment for injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
Further investigation into the incident by Cecil County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) detectives revealed that the victim, along with two acquaintances, was walking through a wooded area when an unidentified assailant(s) unexpectedly opened fire in their direction. In an attempt to escape, the trio fled the scene to seek help, during which the 17-year-old discovered they had been struck. Emergency responders, alongside deputies, administered first aid to the wounded individual at the scene.
