Troopers Identify New Castle Man Killed In Motorcycle Accident

The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred last night in New Castle that left one man dead.

Officials said on April 4, 2024, at approximately 8:03 p.m., a black Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling southbound on South Dupont Highway from Frenchtown Road in the middle right lane.

At the same time, a gray 2018 Mazda 3 was turning from the northbound lanes of S. Dupont Highway into the private parking lot of the Wawa located at 117 S. Dupont Highway. As the Mazda was crossing the four southbound lanes of travel for S. Dupont Highway, it was struck on the right side by the Harley Davidson.

The motorcyclist, 33-year-old Dustin Webb-Missimer from New Castle, Delaware, was transported to an area hospital, where he died.

The operator of the Mazda, a 16-year-old female from New Castle, Delaware, was not injured.

Troopers did not mention that a passenger in the Mazda was also injured. FSU reported that a woman who was in the vehicle was transported to Christiana Hospital.

The roadway was closed for approximately 3.5 hours while the investigators examined the scene and cleared the roadway.
