Body Found In The Christina River Tuesday

On Tuesday evening at 6:50, Wilmington Police Officers were dispatched to Christina Park at 100 N. Church Street following reports of a body in the Christina River. Upon arrival, officers confirmed the presence of a male body underneath the pier. Assistance was requested from the Wilmington Fire Department to retrieve the body.

The body was subsequently pulled from the water and transferred to the medical examiner’s office to determine the cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.
