Cyclist Airlifted In Critical Condition Tuesday

The Middletown Police are currently investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Tuesday afternoon, at approximately 2:28. The incident, which took place at the intersection of Middletown Warwick Road and Levels Road, involved a motor vehicle and a bicycle.

Assistant PIO Jamielee Majewski provided details about the response. According to Majewski, units from the New Castle County Paramedics and the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown were dispatched to the scene. The first responders arrived to find a 39-year-old male cyclist who had sustained possible internal injuries and a leg injury.

New Castle County Paramedics arrived to find the injured cyclist in the care of Middletown EMTs. Due to the severity of his condition, Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 4 unit was called in to transport him to Christiana Hospital. A landing zone for the helicopter was secured at Levels Road and Patriot Drive. The patient was listed in critical condition at the time of transport.
