Crash Knocks Out Power Early Saturday

File

On Saturday morning at 3:03, rescue crews responded to Centre Road and Lancaster Pike in Wilmington following reports of a motor vehicle accident. Initial reports suggested a possible ejection and downed power lines in the vicinity.

Upon arrival, crews found a 30-year-old man who had collided with a utility pole. He was reportedly found outside the vehicle; however, it was not immediately clear if he was ejected or if he self-extricated. Emergency responders transported the injured driver to Christiana Hospital in serious condition.

The crash led to a power outage in the surrounding area, with electricity being disrupted for several hours.
