Delaware State Police Investigate Wednesday Morning Crash In Smyrna

Delaware State Police are investigating a traffic collision that occurred on Wednesday morning at the intersection of Smyrna Landing Road and Paddock Road in Smyrna. Rescue crews from Smyrna’s Citizens Hose Company were dispatched to the scene at 8:47 AM following initial reports of a two vehicle accident with an unresponsive male subject.

Upon arrival, first responders assessed the situation and determined that the patient’s condition did not necessitate air transport or the presence of Advanced Life Support (ALS) units. The helicopter and all ALS units were canceled by Command.

The patient was evaluated on-site and subsequently refused transport to a medical facility. The investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
