Man Trapped In MillvilleTrailer Fire Died Saturday

The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is conducting an investigation into a fire that occurred on Saturday shortly after 12:30 PM in the 35000 block of Bethany Crest Lane.

Chief Deputy John. Galaska said the Millville Volunteer Fire Company, along with mutual aid fire companies from Frankford, Dagsboro, Roxana, and Bethany, responded to the scene and found a mobile home engulfed in flames.

Firefighters located an unconscious individual inside the structure and managed to remove the victim. Despite resuscitation efforts by Fire and EMS personnel, the victim did not survive. The Delaware Division of Forensic Science has taken custody of the victim to determine the identification and cause of death.

Delaware Deputy State Fire Marshals, as part of the Major Incident Response Team, arrived on the scene to investigate the origin and cause of the fire. The fire remains under investigation. No other injuries were reported, and the estimated damage to the property is $50,000.
