Sunday House Fire Sends One To Hospital

Just before 2:45 on Sunday afternoon, rescue crews from the Talleyville Fire Company, along with several mutual aid fire companies, responded to a residential fire in the unit block of Zeigler Lane in Wilmington.

Upon arrival, crews discovered fire and smoke coming from a bedroom in the home. They initiated their attack on the blaze while simultaneously searching the residence for any occupants.

The fire was brought under control just after the twenty-minute mark with crews remaining on scene mopping up. A homeowner was transported to the hospital by ambulance with undetermined injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office.
