Rollover Crash Traps Two Late Sunday In Middletown

Late Sunday night, just before midnight, a traffic collision occurred at Dupont Parkway and South Main Street in Middletown. The crash involved a rollover with two individuals trapped inside the vehicle.

Upon arrival, crews confirmed that two individuals were trapped and began working to extricate them. By 12:12 a.m. on Monday, the first patient had been successfully extricated from the wreckage.

Efforts to free the second trapped individual continued as Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 4 arrived overhead. Fire police on the scene coordinated with Trooper 4’s pilot to secure a landing zone, ultimately closing Route 13 in both directions.

One patient, suffering from serious injuries, was transported to the Christiana Hospital trauma center via Trooper 4. The condition of the second patient remains unknown at this time.

Rescue crews from the Port Penn, Good Will, and Townsend Fire Companies, along with New Castle County Paramedics and Delaware State Police, were dispatched to assist with the crash.

This is a developing story.
