Delaware State Police have arrested 26-year-old Damian Lee of Milford following a hit-and-run collision in Frederica that led to DUI and multiple criminal charges.
On Wednesday evening, at approximately 6:07 p.m. on April 16, 2025, troopers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Buffalo Road in Frederica following reports of a silver minivan that had crashed into a fence and fled the scene. As troopers made their way to the area, one observed a silver Mazda 5 traveling northbound on South Dupont Highway near West Lebanon Road. The Mazda had visible front-end damage matching the description of the fleeing vehicle police said.
A traffic stop was initiated, and the trooper identified the driver as Damian Lee. During the interaction, the trooper observed several signs of impairment police said Thursday. Lee was taken into custody without incident. Subsequent investigation showed that the Mazda had struck a fence and driven through the front yards of two residences.
According to police, the vehicle came close to striking two children who were outside at the time. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash. Lee was taken to Troop 3, where troopers administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.
Following the tests, troopers formally charged Lee with two felony counts of Reckless Endangering in the First Degree, one count of Driving Under the Influence, and Driving with a Suspended or Revoked License. Additional charges included Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident and multiple traffic offenses.
Lee was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and released on an unsecured bond totaling $10,800.
