A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting that occurred at Nutter Park in Seaford on March 12, 2025.
Authorities said they took 22-year-old Jamal Riddick of Blades into custody on April 15 at a residence on South Market Street. He has been charged with Murder First Degree, 17 counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, 17 counts of Reckless Endangering First Degree, and Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $1,340,000 cash bond.
The original incident occurred shortly before 8:00 p.m. when multiple gunshots were fired at Nutter Park on Collins Avenue. Responding officers located 23-year-old Schweitzer Dessin suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Three additional male victims, aged 19, 21, and 23, sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and transported themselves to hospitals for treatment.
The first suspect, 23-year-old Johnathan Dugazon of Seaford, was taken into custody on March 24. He was charged with Murder First Degree, Attempted Murder First Degree, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited Who Has Been Previously Convicted of a Violent Felony, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, four counts of Reckless Endangering First Degree, and Noncompliance with Conditions of Recognizance Bond. At the time of the shooting, Dugazon was out on his own recognizance bond. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $2,156,000 cash bond.

During the arrest of Jamal Riddick, investigators executed a search warrant at the residence and located an AR-style rifle, ammunition, and a high-capacity magazine in a room occupied by 20-year-old Dimere Riddick (pictured above) police said. As a person prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition, he was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, Possession of Ammunition by a Person Prohibited, and Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine During the Commission of a Felony police said. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on an $80,000 secured bond.
The investigation into the Nutter Park homicide remains ongoing.
