Officers and detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit responded to the hospital and determined Anderson had shot him during an earlier dispute in the courtyard according to police. The victim was treated and released with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Crisis Management Group was activated and responded to the scene, and ultimately, Anderson was taken into custody without further incident. He was transported by ambulance to a local area hospital, where he was treated and released, then transported to New Castle County Police headquarters where was charged with the following:

• Assault First Degree
• Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
• Possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited
• Reckless Endangering in the First Degree

Anderson was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $146,000 cash bail.
