Troopers Identified Driver Killed In Friday Crash

Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred yesterday afternoon in Greenwood that left one man dead.

Officials said on May 16, 2025, at approximately 4:59 p.m., a black Toyota Prius was traveling southbound on Staytonville Road approaching the intersection of Shawnee Road in Greenwood. At the same time, a blue Nissan Sentra was traveling westbound on Shawnee Road approaching Staytonville Road. For reasons under investigation, the Toyota failed to remain stopped at the stop sign and entered the path of the Nissan police said. As a result, the Nissan struck the driver side of the Toyota.

The driver of the Toyota, a 77-year-old Michael Boros East Fallowfield, Pennsylvania, was taken to an area hospital where he later died.

The 37-year-old male driver of the Nissan, a 26-year-old female passenger, and a 5-year-old male passenger, all from Bear were taken to an area hospital for minor injuries.

The roadway was closed for approximately three hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
