Fatal motorcycle accident takes the life of Dover man

The Dover Police Department is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that resulted in the death of a 58-year-old Dover man.

Officials said on Sunday, at approximately 4:14 a.m., Dover Police received a call for a serious crash involving a Kawasaki motorcycle in the area of White Oak Road and Garrison Oak Drive. Officers responded to the area and located the 58-year-old victim, who had been ejected from the motorcycle, laying in the field off the roadway.

Arriving officers attempted life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending family notification police said Sunday.

The investigation showed that the motorcycle was traveling westbound on White Oak Road, west of Garrison Oak Drive, at a currently undetermined speed when it left the roadway, struck the ditch, and ejected the victim. It is currently unknown what caused the motorcycle to leave the roadway.

The victim was turned over to the Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation.
