Wilmington Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with a March shooting that left a teenage victim injured. The arrest follows a weeks-long investigation by the department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
Officials said on March 22, 2025, at approximately 4:23 p.m., officers from the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1300 block of Banning Street for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, police learned that a 17-year-old male victim had sustained a gunshot wound and had arrived at a local hospital in stable condition.
Detective Kevin Nolan was assigned to the case and led the follow-up investigation. Through investigative efforts, Detective Nolan identified Semaj Clark, 19, as the suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest police said Thursday.
On May 6, officers located Clark in the 100 block of Cedar Street, where he was taken into custody without incident.
Clark has been charged with Assault in the First Degree and Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited. He was arraigned at the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $60,000 cash-only bail.
