Dover Police Investigating Early Morning Shooting

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a 23-year-old man injured early Wednesday morning. Authorities say the incident occurred around 3:20 a.m. in the unit block of Stevenson Drive.

Officers responded to the scene following reports of gunfire and located the victim, a Dover resident, suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body. Emergency medical personnel transported the man to Bayhealth Kent Campus, where he is currently receiving treatment. His condition has not been disclosed.

According to investigators, the victim had been standing outside on Stevenson Drive when an unidentified suspect approached and shot him once before fleeing the area. No arrests have been made, and the identity or motive of the shooter remains unknown.
