Murder Charges In March 2025 Killing

Wilmington Police have announced the arrests of two individuals in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in late March of this year.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Bradford Street on March 28, 2025, at approximately 2:38 p.m. in response to a report of gunfire. Upon arrival, they 24-year-old located Santee Renwick suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries.

Wilmington Police said that through investigative efforts, Detective Brendan Shea identified 20-year-old Quadre Wright and 18-year-old Amir Morris as suspects in the case. Wright was taken into custody on April 17 in the 400 block of South Claymont Street without incident. Morris, already in custody at the New Castle County Detention Center on an unrelated matter, was formally indicted on May 27 following a presentation of the case to a New Castle County Grand Jury.

Authorities have charged Wright with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, two counts of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and second-degree conspiracy. He was arraigned in New Castle County Superior Court and subsequently committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $2,000,000 cash-only bail.

Morris has been charged with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and second-degree conspiracy. He was also arraigned in Superior Court and remains in custody at the Department of Corrections on $1,000,000 cash-only bail.
