One Dead, One Wounded In Shooting Friday

Wilmington Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Friday evening in the city’s Hilltop neighborhood.

At approximately 7:44 p.m., officers responded to the area of West 23rd and Washington Streets for reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, police located a 24-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition but later died from his injuries.

A second victim, identified as a 25-year-old male, was also found at the scene with gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital and is currently listed in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to contact the Wilmington Police Department. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Delaware Crime Stoppers.
