Overturned, Leaking Sewage Truck Clogs Morning Commute

Emergency crews responded to an accident early Tuesday morning involving an overturned sewage truck on DuPont Boulevard (US 113) near Selbyville, in Sussex County.

Just after7:00, first responders arrived at the scene in the 38100 block of DuPont Boulevard and confirmed the truck had overturned. The vehicle, a sewage transport truck, was observed leaking an unknown substance. It remains unclear whether the leak originated from the vehicle’s fuel tank or the sewage containment tank.

Due to the potential environmental and public safety risks, hazardous materials teams have been dispatched to assess and contain the spill.

There were no immediate reports of injuries. Motorists are advised to avoid the area while cleanup and investigation operations are underway.
