Two Teens 14, 15 Charged After Vehicle Was Shot At

Delaware State Police have arrested two juveniles, ages 14 and 15, both from Laure, in connection with a shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon.

Officials said at at approximately 12:20 p.m., troopers and officers from the Laurel Police Department responded to the 30000 block of Seaford Road following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, investigators learned that two black male suspects had been walking along Seaford Road when a vehicle approached traveling northbound near Discount Land Road. One of the juveniles reportedly discharged multiple rounds at the passing vehicle. Despite the gunfire, the vehicle was not struck, and none of the three occupants inside sustained injuries.

Through investigative efforts, authorities quickly identified the two suspects involved police said. A search of the surrounding area led to the apprehension of the 14- and 15-year-old males, who were taken into custody without incident.

Both suspects were transported to Delaware State Police Troop 5, where they were charged with multiple felonies. The 14-year-old faces charges including Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of Ammunition by a Person Under 18, three counts of Reckless Endangering in the First Degree, and Conspiracy in the Second Degree. The 15-year-old was charged with three counts of Reckless Endangering in the First Degree and Conspiracy in the Second Degree.

Following arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court 3, both juveniles were committed to the Stevenson House Detention Center, each held on $125,000 cash bail.
