File

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police are attempting to locate a suspect regarding an indecent exposure report.

Officials said on Friday, June 27, at approximately 2:15 p.m. Patrol Officers responded to the 100 block of Old Newark Road at the parkland in Brookside Park, for a report of an indecent exposure.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with a 12-year-old victim and the victim’s parent. The child reported that he saw a white male suspect standing near the footbridge, that leads towards Carlisle Road and Cameron Lane, watching him before exposing himself.

The child described the suspect as a white male, approximately 40–45 years old, about 6 feet tall with an average build. He was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt, black shorts, and a red baseball cap with black stitching. The suspect may also have a red bicycle.

Officers checked the surrounding area but were unable to locate the suspect or the bicycle. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit responded and assumed the investigation.

Detectives are asking anyone with information or surveillance footage related to this incident to please contact Detective Weldon at (302) 395-2815 or [email protected] or by calling the New Castle County Division of Police non-emergency number at (302) 573-2800.
