Route 1 Incident Leaves Pedestrian Dead Tuesday

DOVER, Del. — Emergency crews responded to a fatal pedestrian collision early Tuesday morning on Route 1 northbound, just north of Little Creek Road in Dover.

At approximately 2:20 a.m., rescue units were dispatched following reports of a pedestrian being struck. Upon arrival, crews located a male subject of unknown age at the . Shortly after their arrival, medics pronounced the individual deceased at the scene.

Police temporarily closed the northbound lanes of Route 1 in the area as they conducted an investigation into the circumstances of the incident. The roadway has since reopened to traffic.

No additional details have been released regarding the identity of the victim or the events leading up to the collision.
