MAGNOLIA, Del. — The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office has ruled a Sunday afternoon fire in Magnolia as accidental.
At approximately 12:00 p.m. on June 8, 2025, the Magnolia Fire Company was dispatched to the 300 block of Anderson Road for a report of a residential structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a detached storage building fully engulfed in flames, with the fire threatening a nearby residence. Multiple mutual aid companies were called to the scene to assist with suppression efforts.
Deputy State Fire Marshals arrived to investigate and determined that the fire originated inside an enclosed workshop area within the structure. According to officials, the blaze was caused by an undetermined failure of a Lithium-Ion battery pack located inside the workshop.
The fire resulted in an estimated $250,000 in damage to the structure and caused minor damage to the adjacent residence due to heat exposure. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
