Teen Charged In Middletown Shooting Incident

The Middletown Police Department announced the arrest of a 15-year-old juvenile in connection with a shots fired incident that occurred in the Estates at St. Anne’s community on Friday. Officers responded to the area of Kirkcaldy Lane and East Glen Mare Drive following a report of gunfire.

According to a statement released by the department, an investigation confirmed that a shots fired incident had taken place. At the time of the initial response, no victims were located and no injuries were reported.

Police initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the gunfire, including efforts to identify any persons involved and collect evidence from the scene.

As the investigation progressed, detectives developed probable cause to take a 15-year-old male juvenile from Middletown into custody police said. The arrest was made as part of the continuing investigation into the events that occurred in the St. Anne’s neighborhood.

The juvenile was charged with multiple offenses, including two counts of Reckless Endangering in the First Degree, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Juvenile, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, and Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony. He was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court 11 and issued a $50,000 cash bail. After failing to post bail, the juvenile was committed to a juvenile detention facility.

The Middletown Police Department has continued to request the public’s assistance in this case.
