Man Wanted In August Warehouse Stabbing Picked Up By U.S. Marshals

Delaware State Police announced the arrest of 35-year-old Taamir Smith of New Castle in connection with a stabbing at a warehouse on Bear Corbitt Road.

Officials said on August 28, 2025, at approximately 11:00 a.m., troopers were dispatched to the facility following reports of an assault. Upon arrival, they located a 23-year-old male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. Troopers rendered first aid until emergency medical personnel arrived, and the victim was transported to an area hospital in serious condition.

Detectives developed Smith as a suspect through investigative leads, and an arrest warrant was issued. On September 23, 2025, Delaware State Police and members of the U.S. Marshals Service located Smith on 24th Street in Wilmington. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 2.

Smith was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 on charges of Assault First Degree and Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony. He was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $200,000 cash bond.

Court records show Smith has multiple cases in Delaware courts and had several active warrants for his arrest when the incident occurred.
