On Saturday, September 6, 2025, at approximately 3:10 p.m., officers from the New Castle County Division of Police responded to the 2000 block of Brackenville Road in Hockessin for a report of a single-vehicle, motorcycle crash.
Upon arrival, officers located the rider, identified as a 65-year-old John J. Marra of Hockessin, unresponsive at the scene. New Castle County Paramedics and EMS responded, and despite life-saving measures, Marra was pronounced deceased.
The New Castle County Division of Police Traffic Services Unit responded and has assumed the investigation.
Brackenville Road was closed while police investigated the crash.
