At Least Four Shot Near Police HQ In Wilmington

Four people were injured in a shooting late Friday night just blocks from the Wilmington Police Department headquarters in the city’s downtown area.

The shooting happened around 10 p.m. in the vicinity of 4th and Lombard Streets. Responding officers found four individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Three male victims were shot, two in the lower extremities and one sustaining an injury to the hand. A female victim was struck in a lower extremity.

All four were transported to Christiana Hospital for treatment. Their current conditions have not been released.

There is some information that there may have been a fifth victim that went to Wilmington Hospital. We have not been able to confirm that at this stage we will update the story when more information becomes available.

The area surrounding the scene was cordoned off as investigators collected shell casings and gathering evidence. Police have not identified any suspects or discussed a possible motive.

The investigation remains active, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Wilmington police.
