Snow Removal Turns Into Armed Robbery Monday

On Monday, January 26, 2026, at approximately 2:40 p.m., Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police responded to the 700 block of Alexandra Drive in the Rockwood Apartment Complex for a reported robbery.

Upon arrival, Officers contacted four victims who were working in the complex, removing snow. The investigation showed the victims were seated inside a company vehicle when they were approached by two unknown black male suspects, both approximately 20 years old, wearing black ski masks. One suspect approached the vehicle, opened the passenger-side door, and used a handgun as a blunt object to strike one of the victims before taking the victim’s personal property police said.

During the incident, the driver of the vehicle accelerated in an attempt to flee the suspects. As the vehicle was leaving the area, one of the suspects fired a handgun at it, striking the vehicle; however, none of the occupants were struck or injured by the gunfire. The suspects were last seen fleeing the scene towards Route 40, and the victims’ stolen property was later recovered nearby
