Police: Thousands In Packages Gone, Suspect Walks Free

A Wilmington woman has been charged following an investigation into the theft of thousands of dollars in packages from a local business.

Police were dispatched to the 3600 block of Capitol Trail at approximately 4:00 p.m. on April 10, 2026, after receiving a report that multiple mail packages had been stolen. The total value of the stolen items was estimated at approximately $3,700.

During the investigation, officers reviewed evidence and identified a Hyundai Elantra as a possible suspect vehicle. Continued investigative efforts led to the identification of 31-year-old Briana Hubbard of Wilmington as the suspect.

On April 26, 2026, officers located Hubbard at her residence and took her into custody. She was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters, where she was charged in connection with the case.

Hubbard was later arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $4,000 unsecured bail.
