The motorcycle operator was ejected and struck the front of a Chevrolet Equinox that was stopped at the intersection.
The 29-year-old Wilmington man operating the Harley-Davidson was taken to an area hospital, where he died. The driver of the Equinox and an 11-year-old passenger involved in the second crash were not injured.
