The Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that left two people injured Saturday evening in Newark.
According to investigators, troopers responded to a local hospital at approximately 6:30 p.m. on June 27 after two individuals arrived with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit assumed the investigation.
Detectives determined through their investigation that the shooting may have occurred on Otts Chapel Road near Elkton Road. Investigators responded to the area and located multiple spent shell casings believed to be connected to the incident.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting, including what led to the gunfire and whether any suspects have been identified, remain under investigation. Authorities have not released the identities of the victims.
