According to the preliminary investigation, the Kia was making a U-turn when it entered the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Kia, ejecting the rider.

The motorcyclist, a 48-year-old Harbeson man, was transported to an area hospital, where he later died. His name is being withheld pending notification of his family.

The Kia was driven by a 77-year-old New Berlin, Pennsylvania, woman. She and two passengers in the vehicle were not injured.

Coastal Highway was closed for approximately three hours while investigators examined the scene and the roadway was cleared.
