14-Year-Old Boy Drowns Near Seaford Boat Ramp

Seaford – DNREC Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police are investigating the apparent drowning of a 14-year-old boy this afternoon, Tuesday June 6, 2017,  at the Seaford Boat Ramp on the Nanticoke River, according to Lt. John McDerby.

McDerby said Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police, Seaford Police, Seaford Volunteer Fire Department, Blades Volunteer Fire Company and Sussex County EMS Paramedics responded to the scene. Fire company divers recovered the victim and he was transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford.

The ongoing investigation into the incident is being conducted by Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police and the Seaford Police Department.
