Apartment Fire Rescue Captured On Cellphone, Four Reportedly Injured

Marshallton – At approximately 1:20 this afternoon New Castle County Paramedics, Cranston Heights, Mill Creek, Minquas, Five Points, Belvedere, Christiana, Hockessin, Wilmington Manor, Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder, Good Will Fire Companies were dispatched to the Creeks at Marshallton Apartments for a residential structure fire with subjects inside residence.

Upon New Castle County Paramedics arrival personnel from Cranston Heights and Mill Creek Fire Departments rescued all subjects from the residence. There were four patients that were transported.

The first patient, 49-year-old female, suffered from smoke inhalation. The patient was transported to Christiana Hospital via Five Points Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in critical condition at the time of transport.

The second patient, 52-year-old female, suffered from smoke inhalation. The patient was transported to Wilmington Hospital via Mill Creek Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in stable condition at the time of transport.

The third patient, 37-year-old male, suffered from smoke inhalation. The patient was transported to Christiana Hospital via Wilmington Manor Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in critical condition at the time of transport.

The fourth patient, 10-year-old female, suffered from hyperventilation. The patient was transported to Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children via Mill Creek Fire Company ambulance accompanied by emergency medical technicians (EMT’s). The patient was in stable condition at the time of transport.

Deputy Fire Marshal’s were called to the scene and have determined that the fire was accidental and originated in a first floor apartment. The cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical malfunction.

Marshallton – Fire crews from across New Castle County are currently on scene of a two alarm apartment fire that has reportedly injured four, including a child.

The fire occurred at the Creeks at Marshallton apartments, just off Capitol Trail near Panera Bread.

Reports from the scene indicate that three patients were transported with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. An additional patients was transported with serious injuries.

Crews on scene were tending to a small cat that was found injured in the fire, one fireman giving up his oxygen mask.
