Wilmington Shooting Report – September 11 – 17, 2017

Monday
Wilmington – On Monday September 11, 2017, at approximately 11:21 pm, officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Zebley Place regarding SHOT-SPOTTER notification of gunfire, according to police.  Upon the officers arrival, they located a 34-year-old, black male suffering from a single gunshot wound to his right thigh. The male victim was transported the Christiana Hospital where he currently listed in stable condition.

The Suspect in this investigation has been described as a black male, early 20’s in age, medium to light skin complexion, unknown clothing description.

Tuesday
Wilmington – On Tuesday September 12, 2017, a victim was found shot at 26th and Moore. Police responded to the area and reportedly were able to capture a fleeing suspect. The patient’s condition is unknown at this time.

Thursday
Wilmington – On Thursday, 14 September 2017, at approximately 10:32 pm, the Christiana Hospital made notification to the Wilmington Department of Police that a 25-year-old male subject had arrived by private vehicle sustaining a gun shot wound to his left foot and to the right side of his waist. The victim is currently in stable condition.

Police interview with the victim revealed that the victim was struck by gunfire in the 2600 block of N. Market Street, however no crime scene had been located at the time of the incident.

Sunday
Wilmington – On Sunday, 17 September 2017, at approximately 3:57 am, Wilmington Police patrol officers responded to the area of E. 16th and Thatcher Streets in reference to a 34-year-old male who had been shot, according to  Wilmington Police Spokeswoman Stephanie Castellani.

Castellani said upon the officers arrival they made contact with the male victim, who was bleeding from the right side of his face. A blood trail led officers to the 900 block of E. 17th Street where a shooting scene was located. There was no SHOT SPOTTER notification for this incident. The victim was transported to the Christiana Hospital by New Castle County paramedics where it was revealed that the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the right side of his face and gunshot wounds to his upper torso.

Update: Sunday 8:30 am – The victim is currently undergoing surgery and he is listed in critical condition, said Castellani.
