Middletown – Yesterday, at approximately 10:00 am, New Castle County Paramedics and personnel from the Odessa Fire Company were dispatched to the 2300 block of DuPont Parkway for a motor vehicle crash, involving a rollover, according to Paramedic Senior Corporal David J. McKinney, Jr.
McKinney said County Paramedics were the first to arrive on scene, finding a multi-vehicle crash and confirming entrapment. Two patients, both occupants of the overturned vehicle were treated while fire department crews were responding.
The first patient and driver, an 81-year-old male was evaluated for a head injury. The second patient, a passenger in the overturned vehicle was an 81-year- old female who was treated on scene for a possible back and hand injury. Upon the arrival of fire department personnel, the patients were extricated from the vehicle and were transported to the Emergency Department at Christiana Hospital on board ambulances from the Delaware City and Odessa Fire Companies. Both patients had County Paramedics accompanying them to the hospital and both were stable during transport.
The Delaware State Police were on scene and are investigating the crash.

Middletown – Rescue crews from the Odessa Fire Company, along with the Port Penn Fire Company, New Castle County Paramedics and Delaware State Police have responded to Route 13 in the Boyd’s Corner area for a rollover crash with entrapment.
Arriving units found a five vehicle accident with one vehicle on it’s top. New Castle County Paramedics, arriving first on the scene, began treating two patients that were trapped in the overturned vehicle.. Passers-by began directing traffic as medics worked to treat the patients. Several minutes later arriving fire crews began to extricate the patients from vehicle. Crews worked for approximately 10 minutes to extricate the patients before they were transported.
Two patients were observed being transported by ground ambulance both with a trauma alert requested.
Route 13 SB is only getting by on the shoulder.
