Newark – Delaware State Police detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying pictured suspect, who is wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a 61-year-old Salem woman, that occurred at approximately 3:26 p.m., Tuesday, December 12, 2017, in the parking lot of the DSW shoe store, located at 2600 Fashion Center Boulevard, Newark, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.
Austin said the pictured vehicle was also involved in the incident and it was described as a black, newer model Dodge Charger, with a white license plate and chrome wheels.
Anyone with information regarding the pictured suspect or the associated vehicle is asked to contact Detective T. Dukes of the Troop 2 Robbery Unit, at 302-365-8412. Newark – Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery involving a handgun, which took place in the parking lot of a Newark area shopping center, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.
Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 3:26 p.m., Tuesday, December 12, 2017, in the parking lot of the DSW shoe store, located at 2600 Fashion Center Boulevard, Newark, as a 61-year-old, Salem, NJ woman, was attempting to enter her vehicle.
The victim had just opened her driver’s door, when she was approached from behind by a subject, who struck her in the head, in turn, knocking her into the side of the vehicle. The suspect then displayed a black handgun, and threatened to kill the victim, as he snatched her purse, said Austin. After obtaining the purse, the suspect entered into the front passenger seat of an awaiting vehicle, which then fled the scene, according to Austin. The victim sustained a contusion to her forehead as a result of the incident, however she declined medical treatment.
The suspect is described as a black male, 30-40 years of age, 6’00”, 200 lbs., wearing a black jacket, knit hat and armed with a black, unknown make and model handgun.
The suspect vehicle was described as a black, newer model Dodge Charger, with a white license plate. The driver of the vehicle could only be described as a black male.
