Troopers: Armed Suspects Rob Smyrna Car Dealership, Assault Employees

Smyrna- The Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a used car dealership that occurred Thursday evening, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the incident occurred on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at approximately 11:12 p.m. at the World Trust, located at 2620 S. Dupont Boulevard. Three suspects entered the business while two of them displayed handguns and demanded money from the employees, according to Jaffe.

One of the suspects struck an employee over the head with his fist while a second suspect struck another victim in the head with a handgun, Jaffe said. A third victim was also in the business during this incident and was not injured. All three victims complied with the suspects demands and turned over their cell phones.

Jaffe said the suspects removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash register and several keys to vehicles located on the used car lot, prior to fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

One suspect was described as a black female, wearing a dark colored sweatshirt and sweatpants, and light colored sneakers. The second suspect was described as a black male wearing a dark colored jacket, and dark colored pants and shoes. The third suspect was described as a black male wearing a hooded sweatshirt and dark colored jeans, with a dark colored mask over his face.
