Wilmington – On Saturday, 14 April 2018, at approximately 7:20 pm, officers from the Uniformed Services Division, ‘C’ Platoon, and members from the Anti-Violence Initiative were on routine patrol and observed several motor bikes in the Brown-Burton Winchester Park (23rd and Thatcher Street area).
Once the occupants of the motor bikes observed police in the area the motor bikes began to flee from police. Sergeant Paul Ciber, Officer Evans, Officer Dennison, and Officer Fosset immeidately took swift action and were sucessful in getting two of the motor bikes stopped without incident.
One of the occupants of the motor bike was found to have 5 outstanding warrants and he was booked accordingly, along with the Off Highway Vehicles (OHV) violation.
The other occupant of the motor bike received a summons for an OHV violations.
Both motor bikes were impounded.
Earlier in the day, Wilmington Police were able to seize another motor bike, which was travelling, illegally, on city streets. And on Tuesday, April 10, another motor bike was seized and the occupant was issued several moving violations.
