Update: Bike Rider Struck By A Vehicle Near Delaware City

New Castle – Just after 7:00 this evening, rescue crews from the Delaware City Fire Company, along with Delaware State Police, New Castle County Paramedics and Trooper 4 (Delaware State Police Aviation) responded to the 700 block of Cox Neck Road for reports of a pedestrian struck.

Reports from the scene indicate that a female riding a bicycle turned in front of a car that was traveling approximately 50 mph.

The patient is being transported to the trauma center at Christiana Hospital with serious injuries

Early reports that a child was struck cannot be confirmed.
